Henry Hicks, known as Horatio Luna, is one of Australia’s most prolific and innovative bassists, composers and producers. Based in Naarm/Melbourne, Luna has pioneered a style he calls JazzyHouse - a fusion of deep house, bruk, acid-jazz and live improvisation. His contributions to the scene were recognised by Gilles Peterson on the landmark Sunny Side Up compilation(Brownswood), and he has released multiple beat tapes, vinyl projects and acclaimed works including Cultural Warriors and Boom Boom. A founding member of the 30/70 collective, he has toured internationally, headlined Golden Plains Festival (2019), and collaborated with artists such as Allysha Joy, Phil Stroud and Felipe Gordon. With each release, Horatio Luna expands his palette of soulful house jams, continuing to shape the sound of Australia’s underground dance and jazz scenes.
